Three of the Musingi kids have been doing Taekwondo. They tested last night and earned their yellow belt. This is the second belt they have earned. They love doing Taekwondo.

Bailey and Davis
A few weeks ago, Jacob and Becca came to visit. We went to Spaghetti Factory for dinner one night. Davis sat up to the table and fed himself. Such a big boy!!
Notice the pinkie!!!
While eating dinner, we noticed a man doing balloons and going from table to table. We had him come to ours and do balloons for the kids.
He made Ariel for Bailey. She was thrilled.
Scott was impressed with Ariel too!!!

New doors covering electronics
O.K. so the doors above the TV and covering the electronics were giving me fits. They are very wide, but very short, so two hinges on the ends were not holding the doors up very well. Plus, I think I built them a bit too wide.
So I decided to build two new doors, a little smaller and use piano hinges across the top of the doors.
What a difference!!
Made the doors, totally stable, they open without any trouble and the doors do not sag. The doors open from the bottom and allow us to insert or change DVD's or anything else.
Let's see now.... I think I have rebuilt 5 doors on the entertainment center. People say they want me to build stuff for them. Heck they could not deal with my slow pace!!

Dust Collection System
I have been working on getting my dust collection system hooked up in the shop. That is a huge project and something that just takes time.
I finally got the main line ordered a couple weeks ago, which allows all the tools to be hooked up to it and they all feed in to the huge vacuum, or dust collection.
Packages came this week, but there was a problem....
The pipe has rolled ends and you use clamps that hook over both pieces of the pipe and clamps it down so the dust can flow without leaks. Well this dented piece does not allow for an air tight connection.
It happens to be the largest piece they shipped 60 inches long.
They used some funky packing material on the pipe, but did not do it right, because it put the pipe right at the edge of the box and so it got dinged up. The packing is supposed to hold the pipe suspended in the box and not allow it to touch the edge.
With the broken glass and the dented pipe, I did not make much progress on my projects this week, but the Olympics were sure good!!

Entertainment Center
Some times it takes long to do the little things at the end of a job instead of all the time it takes to do the big things.
The doors above the TV were not working very well. They were 32 inches wide and 8 inches tall, but not hanging very good and not opening very good either. Tried new hinges, but that did not work either.
Last weekend, decided to just rebuild the doors, use piano hinges on them and hang them from the top, so the doors would open up instead of out.
Got the doors built, took the glass from the old door to Hobby Lobby to have them cut the inch or 2 inches off each glass so I could use the glass from the first set of doors I built.
Cut the first one down without any troubles. The second piece of glass broke in places it was not supposed to. The clerk felt really bad and said they would reimburse us for the new glass.
I loaded my frames up in the car, went home, opened the tail gate and the the other door fell out of the car. Glass all over the place!!!
Scott just picked up the doors from the glass shop today, so I should be able to get those hung.
Had some base board trim I was not happy with, so I replaced that last weekend. Started on the crown moulding, but not finished with that. Finally decided how I am going to do all the different levels on the entertainment center and the ceiling.

New truck
We have had this little truck for about 7 or 8 years. It has been good, but it is beginning to cost us money. Last month $1,200 for the 4 wheel drive stuff. This month $400 for the over drive stuff. Time to get a new one. Usually what happens is Scott goes and looks and tests drives a car, works out the deal and I go to sign the papers.
About the same this time except I test drove the new truck too.
2013 Toyota Tundra pick up truck. It looks really nice. And I can haul wood in it!!!
