Memorial Day weekend in Vernal

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to Vernal to help Jacob and Becca with their yard.  They built a new house and are working on getting the yard finished.  Becca wanted grow boxes for a garden spot.  We used pressure treated 2 x 10 boards for the grow boxes.  We did four of them 4' x 8' and one 3 x 3 for an herb garden.

Then we started on the front putting borders in and covering the area by the sidewalk and driveway with ground cover and mulch.  Bailey was helping us nail down the stakes for the ground cover in her Princess dress!!

We had beautiful weather and had alot of fun working with the kids in their yard.

Latest Project in the Garage

A few months ago we bought a new pick up truck.  Because of the shelves in the garage, the pick up truck did not fit in to the garage.  So I took two shelves out of the shelves at the front of the garage.  That meant building a header across the opening and framing the opening in.

A couple weekends ago, I framed in the opening in preparation to finishing off this recently remodeled area.  The house has a central vacuuming system and the main system is also in this area, so I had to frame it and finish it so we could still get to the vacuum, the hose and emptying the bags.

This past weekend, actually Monday of Memorial Day weekend, we covered over the framing, made doors that slide and covered the end shelves with another door so we could get to the things on the end shelves.

Another project finished!!

Bailey and Davis

So last week we had Jacob, Becca and the kids for an evening.  The kids are growing up so far.  Davis still has the cheeks you want to just pinch, but he is walking all over and exploring so much.  He loves the trucks and cars in the basement

Musingi hair cuts

So the boys in Idaho Falls have been growing their hair for the last several months.  A couple weeks ago they got their hair cut.

Ken's hair!!

Have to admit - like the hair cut better than the long hair!!  Good looking kids!!

Tae Kwon Do

The three younger kids are doing Tae Kwon Do and love it.  Next week they will be testing for the camel colored belt.

Kyra's Room

A few days before we left for Idaho Falls, Kyra sent a text message wanting to do know if I would do some shelves in her bedroom like I had done for Myka.  I told her I would bring the tools and we would get the shelves done.

This time I had Kyra help me.  She used the drill to pre-drill the holes in the wall, hung the brackets, used the level to get them straight and then helped me cut the shelving material.  She loved helping and learning about the tools and doing the shelves.

It also helped cross off some of her Personal Progress items in Young Women's.  Woo hoo!!

Both the girls have alot of stuffed animals and they were taking up space on the dresser and the floor.  With the new shelves, we got the animals up on the shelves, stuff off the dresser and helped her get her room organized a bit better.

She was happy with the progress!!

Piano Recital

Went to Idaho Falls this past weekend to spend time with kids.  We had piano recitals and Tae Kwon Do to watch.  We had planned to see one of Myka's track meets, but that got moved up to Wednesday, so we did not see it.

All four kids are doing piano lessons.  Their playing ability keeps getting better each year and they do so well.  It is fun to see them practise and perform and to see their confidence increase every year.
