Headboard repair

One of my neighbors called needing some help with a headboard.  She was getting ready to sell the headboard, so she had it outside to measure it and the wind blew it over and broke it.  She wanted to know if it could be saved?

Took the top of the headboard off, pulled all the floating panels out.

Had to glue some of the panels and other pieces back together and then put it all back together.

Looks almost good as new.  Used some wood filler and had to put more oil on the headboard to clean it up a bit.  Stabalized the back of the headboard a bit, so it would stay together and returned the headboard.  Kind of a nice change of pace from the doors that I have been working on for Lisa's lockers.  One of the doors is in the background of the picture below.  Had to do 14 doors for the lockers.

Jacob and Becca in town for concert - September 12 and 13, 2015

Jacob and Becca came in to town on Saturday, the 12th for a Tim McGraw concert.  We had the kids Saturday afternoon/evening.  First time baby Charlotte was left with anyone, but we all survived.  She did not want to take a bottle for a while, but once she realized it was food, we did good.

Bailey has quite a few food allergies so feeding her is a bit intimidating, but Noodles and Company work really well.

Grandpa got Charlotte to laugh.  Nothing quite a cute as a baby laughing.

 

 

Denver and Colorado Rockies baseball game Sept 3-7, 2015

Scott and I went to Denver to catch some baseball games and to play for a few days.  Left Thursday after work and stopped in Price for some Navajo Tacos.  They were yum!!  Went on to Grand Junction Thursday night.

Friday morning got up and went the rest of the way in to Denver.  Love the drive through Glenwood Springs canyon.

Rockies were playing Giants, so it was fun to watch.  Caught two baseball games.

Saturday morning we did not have a lot planned, but we were going to look around Denver.  Went outside and our plans were made for us.  Had a flat tire on the Sequoia.  We tried to get the tire off, but the lug nuts were on too tight.  Called the insurance company because we have towing on our policy.  They called a roadside maintenance service.  That guy could not get the lugs nuts off either, so we had to call a tow truck.

Each time, had to wait about an hour for the truck to show up.  Finally got the Sequoia picked up and took us to a tire shop.  Took a couple hours to get the tire fix and replaced.  Our free morning was now gone.

Had lunch at Cheesecake Factory downtown and then went to the ball game.  Still had fun.

Sunday morning we got up and headed home, but went through Rocky Mountain National Park.  Beautiful drive and beautiful scenery.  Had to stop at all the Kodak moment locations, so that took most of the day.

Made it to Vernal Sunday night to visit with Jacob and Becca and the kids.  So much fun to visit with grandkids and spend some time together.

Musingi's in town

Normally the Musingi kids come and spend a week with us in the summer so we can play.  With all the health issues and family emergencies we had last fall/winter, I did not have much vacation time to take off.

Mike, Cristal and kids came down Wednesday, August 19 - Sunday, August 23 and we played!!

We went to Lagoon and rode a ton of rides.  We also did a ton of walking.  I left Lagoon around 7:00, but the kids stayed and shut it down at 10:00.

Friday we went to Cowabunga and played in the water; water slides and Lazy river.  No pictures there - thank goodness!!!  That night we went to a baseball game with the Salt Lake Bees and the Chicago Cubs Iowa farm club team.

Saturday night was our first ever RSL soccer game.  It was a lot of fun.  Salt Lake won 2-0, but a very festive, party atmosphere and a lot of fun.

And not to be out done.... someone put a cake of Coke in the freezer to cool it down fast.  Someone forgot it and this is what we found on Monday night.  I know what I will be doing tonight!!!

Bailey, Davis and Charlotte at Grandma and Grandpa's

August 14, 15 and 16 Bailey, Davis and Charlotte got to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa. 

We hit the aquarium, which was a lot of fun.  It's hard to take pictures inside the aquarium, but some of them turned out.  The kids loved the swimming animals.  Not too sure about snakes and spiders, but they had fun looking.

And of course we had to have movie night downstairs.  Bailey slept on the big air mattress and that's where they watched movies.  Ice cream in bed was good too.

 

 

We also did the food dye with vinegar in baking soda.  Can't believe I did not get a picture of that.  Davis was very exact where he put his colors so none of them touched.  Bailey was putting as much color in the pans as she could. 

 

Always good to spend time with grand  children!!

 





Trip to Vernal

Last weekend we got to see up close and personal Charlotte Louise Mann.

Blessing of Charlotte

This past weekend we went to Vernal for the blessing of Charlotte Louise Mann.  Spending time with grandkids is always good.  Becca's parents were in town from Virginia for the blessing and it was good to visit with them.

Jacob, Becca and their little family.  Bailey starts kindergarten in a few weeks and she is excited to go to school.
