Musingi entertainment center

Spent most of the weekend working on the entertainment center for Cristal. Building all the cases at my house, taking cases apart to haul flat to Cristal's house. A few of the cases that are more involved, I am putting together and will haul put together. This is the case that will hold DVD's, Wii games and other "stuff". The cases will all be made out of oak veneer plywood, drawers are made out of poplar, with handcut dovetails and the fronts made out of knotty alder. Drawer slides always intimidated me, but after this entertainment center, drawer slides will be old stuff. So far, I have done 7 drawer slides and have not had to remove and replace yet!!

Hiawatha Bike Trail - Idaho/Montana border

In September 2011, my sister Pat, her husband Darrel, Scott and I went to ride the Hiawatha Trial. It's an old railroad bed. The rails have been removed and made in to a bike trail. Several railroad tunnels, trestles, and landmarks. The history has been preserved with several roadside billboards explaining what occurred in history at these locations. One tunnel is more than a mile long and requires lights to see through it. Beautiful country and great company!!!

Mariah's bunk beds

These bunk beds were made for Derrick and Mariah. Parker was about 4 years old and Zoey was ready to get out of the crib, so we made bunk beds. These were made at the furniture buildng class I was taking at Salt Lake Community College. The wood is knotty alder with a spray on polyurethane finish. These were done in December 2009.

Mariah and Derrick's bathroom

These are from Mariah's bathroom. Mariah and Derrick gutted their bathroom and I rebuilt the linen closet and put new fronts on the vanity. The wood is knotty alder, with hand rubbed oil finish and gel polyurethane rubbed on to seal it. Mariah is Scott's daughter. This was finished in November 2011.

Mission style end tables

These are Mission Style end tables. Also made a coffee table. All three are in the front room. Made out of native cherry and hand rubbed Watco Danish oil. These were built in 2008.

Cherry tool Box

This a tool box made out of native cherry. The joints are hand cut dove tails. The lid is a raised panel lid. The finish is hand rubbed Watco Danish Oil. This tool box will probably never see any tools in it, but it sure was fun. Gave this tool box to my sister Jan.

New door

This is it, the new door. Huge improvement. It lets light in to the front entry way and it classes up the front of the house a bunch from the curb!!!
