Hardware attached

Got most of the hardware attached to the construction boards.  Through all of the painting on the boards, I forgot to paint the doors that cover the mirror.  I took the doors off on Saturday and painted one coat on Saturday, and got another coat of paint on them last night.

There are two different types of light switches, a padlock, all kinds of sliding locks, hasps, and other devices to keep a kid busy and intrigued.  On the top right, there are two pieces of PVC pipe that screw together and put on a shoe string and one of those darn door stoppers that the kids like to flick and make it twang!!!  There is even a caster on the board for the kids to spin.

All that is left to do is put the painted doors on and the vinyl letters across the top.

Nice, fun project!!  Go ahead Pat, find some more projects on Pinterest!!!

Paint on the construction boards

More pictures from my sister Pat's Pinterest project.  Got some yellow construction paint on last weekend and then last night taped off the black lines and got some black paint on the boards.

We will let the paint harden for a few days, then start putting the hardware on the boards.  Fun project!!

Myka's Jewlery Box

Delivered Myka's jewelry box this weekend.  Monday night she was filling it with her earrings.

Piano Recital

This past weekend, we went to Idaho Falls for Myles baptism.  The piano teacher arranged for piano recitals this weekend too, so we had a full day on Saturday.  Piano recital in the morning, baptism in the afternoon.

Previous recitals have been in the piano teacher's parents house, but this year she had too many students, so the recital was at a business in town.  It was very nice and beautiful pianos.

Myles baptism

Cristal and Mike's youngest was baptized this past weekend in Idaho Falls.  Myles was pretty excited to get baptized.  There were two other girls from his ward that got baptized at the same time.

Outside project, weather permitting....

It's spring and the weather has been so unpredictable.  I have two huge flower beds in my front yard.  One is raised with the large landscape blocks and it looks awesome.

The other flower bed only had the small, little scalloped blocks and they did not match the other flower bed and they looked aweful.

This spring, I bought a new little tiller for the flower beds and the "small" garden spot and I just love it.  Cut back all the trees and bushes in the flower bed and tillled up the flower bed.

Removed those aweful scalloped blocks and I am in the process of "creating" a raised flower bed on the other side of the yard.  I started at the lowest spot, because the yard is sloped, and started laying out the blocks.

They are super heavy and Scott can't lift that much weight yet, so I am going slow.  Hauled 24 blocks last weekend and got them all set, leveled front to back and side to side and started working my way around the flower bed.

Even only having about 1/3 of the way done, is a whole lot better than the old scalloped blocks.  It has been really cold and rainy this week, so no new blocks yet.

So much to do and so little time!!!

Jewelry Box done, on to a new project!!

My sister Pat has a great system; find something on Pinterest she likes and then she has me build it.  This next project is awesome.

She bought all the hardware,  I supplied the wood and will put everything together.

The boards are 3 feet by 3 feet with trim around the edges for strength and stability.  They will be painted construction yellow with black stripes and every type of hardware you can imagine that kids can play with and turn, push, pull, open, close, spin, etc.

Found some additional things to add to the board from my shop.  Wanted to make sure the boards would hold everything, but not so heavy we can't move them.

We are doing 3 boards, one for my house and two for her.  Great idea!!!

Almost done with jewelry box

Myka's jewelry box is almost done.  This past weekend, got the doors put back on.

Put pull handles on the drawers so they can be pulled out easily.

Lined four drawers with felt.  Necklaces and bracelets will go on these drawers.  Still need to put hooks on these drawers and then we are done.

The two outside drawers will hold earrings.

So nice to finish projects!!
