One of the Laurel's in my YW group has ducks for pets. She asked me if I could help her build a duck house for her ducks to be protected from the winter weather.
Camille sent me several pictures of "possible" duck houses. We decided on this one for ease of building and probably the most efficient.
This is the frame of the house, made out of 2 x 4"s. We put 1/4" plywood on the sides and the back and then put 2 inch foam insulation on the inside for warmth.
We also put a hole in the back, up at the top for Camille to put a light bulb in to help keep the ducks warm.
So we put the duck house behind the fence, on the east side of the house, in a fenced in area so the ducks will be well protected during the winter weather.
So after a few days, I get a picture and a text from Camille.
All the tests says, "Fresh poop. That's a good sign."
Got to love it!!!
And what is a duck house, without the residents??
