The pictures loaded backwards, soooo, the picture going from bottom to top is just beginning to put the cases in. The bottom frame is attached to the walls and the first two cases are installed. The 2nd case is the one with four drawers and will hold the DVD's, Wii, and other accessories.
The next picture up is my excellent assistant installing more cases. The small case with four compartments is for the electronics like DVD player, cable receiver, surround sound. That case will have glass doors so the remotes can work.
The next picture up with is with most of the cases installed. Clamps are still on holding some cases together until all the screws are installed and the cases are attached.
The top picture is with all cases installed and face frames installed on most of the cases. I did not take enough knotty alder for the face frames, so I have to finish installing the trim around the computer cabinet.
The entertainment center is in the basement of Cristal and Mike's house. It is 145 inches long and 105 inches tall. There will be two opened cases, one for the TV and one for the heater, which is directly below the TV. All the other cases will have doors. There will be a total of 23 doors.
Everything went together really well except four cases were not the right size. The TV and electronics box were too big. I had to take them apart, cut down and rebuild. Also two other cases were too small, so I had to take them apart, cut up some of the shelves I had made and rebuild them.
There is over 25 sheets of 3/4 inch oak veneer plywood in the entertainment center.
Whew!!! Feels good to have it this far!!!
Wow! Looks awesome, way to go!
