Children's Museum and Build a Bear
Kenyon is playing with a huge water display that has shutes, waterfalls, toys and gadgets to let water run through and do things with.
Downtown Salt Lake at the Gateway, there is a Children's Museum. It is awesome. Lots of hands on stuff to do and visit. There is a huge ball pit, with air hoses that the kids put colored balls in the hoses and they go all over the room. There is a grocery store, with plastic food, cash registers and everything to simulate shopping and groceries.

Cowabunga Wednesday, June 20th
Zoey, Parker and Mariah went to Cowabunga with us. It's a water park, not far from the house, in Draper. There are huge water slides, a lazy river and a beach type pool for the kids to play in. The lazy river and the pool have heated water. The huge water slides do not have heated water. It was only about 75 degrees this day, so the kids spent the majority of time in the lazy river and pool.
Myka and Kyra played with Zoey.
Kenyon, Myles and Parker had a ball playing together. The kids had fun playing with cousins all day.

Shop Time
The kids love to spend time in the shop when they come to visit. I have several kits from Lowe's that the kids can put together. This time they did a red school house that holds school pictures. They all have their own shop kids with goggles, aprons, hammers and a few other tools.
Myles is holding the finished project.

Snowbird Ski Resort
Monday, June 18th we went to Snowbird. It was hot in the valley, but at Snowbird, it was atleast 10 degrees cooler. They have all kinds of activities for kids to do. One of the favorites was the trampolines with bungy cords and belts so the kids could jump as high as they wanted and do flips without worrying about falling off.
We rode the ski lift to the top of the Alpine Slide and then rode the Alpine Slide cars down the hill. We went on that several times Kenny even crashed off his car. No major damage, just some scratches.
There was also rock walls to climb. The kids really did well on that. Myles was like Spider Man. He went right up the wall. Myka went to the top of every rock wall she climbed. They had fun there too.
We also rode the quad lift to the top of the mountain and found some snow!! It was chlly up there. The boys could have stayed up there forever playing in the water and streams, but it was chilly. The view was incredible and we had a great day.
Chalk Art Festival
On Saturday, June 16th, after the railroad museum in Ogden, we went downtown SLC to the Gateway to see the Chalk Art Festival. I had heard this was the 10th year of the festival. Some of the pictures were incredible. One lady said she had spent 30+ hours working on her picture.
Of course the splash pad was there at the Gateway and the kids could not resist playing in the water for a bit. It was pretty hot that day.

Father's Day
Sunday, June 17, had Scott's kids over for Father's Day. The grandkids had a ball playing together. The girls played with dolls - Polly Pockets and the boys played outside with nerf guns and balls.
Musingi week with Grandma and Grandpa
On Saturday, June 16, we met Mike and Cristal in Malad, Idaho to take the kids. Mike and Cristal are both going to YW girl's camp in Idaho Falls, so the kids came to stay with us in June, instead of August.
First stop was the Ogden RailRoad Museum and Browning Gun Museum. The kids got to learn about trains and the history of the Golden Spike in Utah, climb on the trains and look at some old relic cars.
Utah County Half Marathon
Scott's daughter Mariah ran the Utah County Half Marathon on Saturday, June 2nd. She ran a blistering speed of 1:40 ish. She did awesome. Jacob was going to run with her, but Becca was in labor and he stayed with her. The labor ended, so we did not get our new grand son yet. Good thing, he was trying to make an early entrance and he needs to bake a little longer.
Parker and Zoey were at the finish line waiting for their Mom.

Drawer fronts
Flexibility, that's what I call it!!!
When the EC was originally designed, we were going to have doors over the case with the drawers to hold the DVD's, Wii and other small items.
After the EC was installed, the hinges for the door occupied the same space as the drawer slides. So flexibility prevailed and we decided to do drawer fronts for each drawer so each drawer could be opened individually. The other way would have required both doors to be opened, to open a drawer.
This will work better.

Piano Recital
On Monday, June 4 we had a piano recital in Idaho Falls. Kenyon and Myka have been taking piano lessons for 3 years, Kyra for two years. The kids played a song solo and then did a duet with their instructor. They did awesome. So fun to see them learn new things and to get better as they work at skills.
Kyra with a great job on her songs and is learning to do very well.
Myka was way nervous and her instructor said she picked a very hard song to play, but she did great and it was fun to cheer them on. We threatened we were going to do "the wave", but we behaved ourselves and only mildly cheered them on!!
