Temple Walk - June 2, 2012
On Saturday, June 2, 2012, the Young Women in our ward did a Temple Walk. We started at the Draper Temple, walked to the Jordan River Temple and finished at the Oquirrh Temple. Along the way we had rest stops, with ladies in our ward set up with refreshments and drinks. We also had speakers at each stop to talk about what people from their missions had to do to get to the Temple.
Nate_____, who used to live in our ward and just returned from Portugual from his mission talked about the challenges those people had to get to the Temple in Spain.
Mike Musingi, my son-in-law spoke about the people in Tansania who had to travel 2,000+ miles to the Temple in South Africa. He talked about how much people in Kenya and Tansania made in a day and how much an air line ticket costs. He said most people ride buses for days to get to the temple.
President Nielsen met us at the Jordan River temple and spoke about people in New Zealand and what it took for them to get to the Temple.
Our Relief Society has dinner planned for us at the ward building when we were finished.
