These are the list six pieces needed for the dust collection system. I have had the "vacuum" for 2 years and this winter/spring decided to get everything I needed to get it up and running. It took alot of ordering and shipping of the necessary parts. These three end caps and clamps close off three branches that I have unused at this point but allow for future expansion of the dust collection system.
Three branches with nothing hooked to them right now.
The last six pieces hooked to the system to create the closed system. Woo whoo!!! Now all the tools are hooked to the dust collection. Some tools will share the drop down pipes to the collection system, so they have handles and quick disconnect connections.
So once I got this done the other night, I turned on the large "vacuum" to get it a test drive. The remote switch did not work. Probably because the battery is dead, I have had it so long. The switch on the vacuum worked just fine. Holy Cow!!! did it have good suction.
The longer it ran though, the dustier the air got in the shop. Then I realized I have had the "vacuum" for so long, I forgot to attach bags to the collector system. Duh!! Got the bags installed on Wednesday night and it worked like a charm.
At each of the tools I have blast gates, which allow the air to be sucked from each tool, or turned off. The guys at the factory suggested I leave one gate opened all the time because I have so much suction, then just opened another tool when I use something else. I will probably leave the table saw opened all the time. May have to play with that to see which way works better.
Major job done!!!
