So a few months ago, we bought a new truck. We had a small Ford Ranger pick up and now we have a Toyota Tundra. Did not even think about it when we bought it, but once we got it home, realized it would not fit in the garage.
When we first moved in to the house, I built shelves in the garage along the front of the garage; wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Great for storage and to put stuff away.
Saturday I tackled the remodeled of the shelves so the pick up truck would fit in the garage.
Had to take about four units out, two shelves and about 110 inches wide out, so the truck would fit in.
It took most of the day and I was very careful to put in a temporary support to hold the upper shelves while I removed the lower support. Then I cut 4 x 4 posts and did a 4x4 header for support of the upper shelves. Measured the length of the truck, the wide of the truck, everything.
Got everything removed, put in the new header and pulled the truck in the garage. Voila! it fit. but only by a few inches. Never measured the height of the truck bed. I just figured once I got the bottom two cabinets out, it would fit. Did not have too much room to spare.
